Depression hits us where it hurts, especially when your job or marriage is not all what it is cracked up to be. Sometimes we place our hope in temporary, worldly things, which leads to disappointment. This is why we must remind ourselves as to why we are here on Earth. Remembering our one true purpose when our hopes are crushed.
I have been on this road a long time. I know many people were expecting some form of a glow up from me, but God had other plans. Let me tell you, I been on the mountaintop facing God’s presence to walking for years in the darkest valleys. Self doubt has plagued my steps and for a while I completely stopped writing, dreaming, drawing and everything I loved, because I believed in lies, rather than seeing the power and beauty lying within. Inspire them! Tell them! Show them! I rather write to you my journey in creating A Meeting at the Well and my growth, than show off, don’t you think its time for you to overcome self doubt as well?
Do you sometimes think peace is imaginary? Christians talk about it and Jesus said His peace is real and evident. But where is it? Life’s struggles will never disappear, but if you can find a a moment in the overwhelmingness of life then you could breathe. Unemployment, job evaluations, divorce, break ups, destructive arguments between long time friends and family there are so many circumstances where we request from heaven the peace Jesus promised us here on Earth. Yet our hearts remain empty and our spirits shaking. Do you think, maybe asking for peace is not the issue we’re having. The Lord Jesus will not give us peace in a situation, if we’re not determined to keep our minds focused on Him.
Have you ever had a moment where you did not have the courage to face an important task? You know there was no way you could get out of this business meeting, surgery, job interview, or conference. Yet you were shaking in your shoes, wondering if God would you give the courage and strength to overcome. Will my friends, He will but it depends, will we have the courage to acquire the courage we need?
